What is Live-in Care?

Live-in care is when a full-time carer lives in the home with the person, they are caring for so that they can be on hand to provide care as and when it is needed. It is an ideal option for somebody who needs a lot of support with caring for themselves, getting around the home or out and about and with household tasks.

A live-in carer will have their own bedroom or living quarters and agreed hours, but will be there for support with tasks such as:

• Helping to get up in the morning and ready for the day
• Getting ready and into bed in the evening
• Personal care such as washing, toileting and dressing
• Help with household tasks such as light cleaning, food preparation and cooking, laundry, food shopping
• Helping to provide accompaniment and transport to appointments or social events.

When you hire our live-in care services in West Sussex, a care plan will be agreed prior to the carer being in post and they will always take their cue from the person they are caring for and encourage them to do things for themselves where they can, to encourage a level of independence.
