What is Live-In Care for Couples?

Live-in care for elderly couples allows couples to stay living together in their own property when they might need additional help to look after themselves and their home. This support can provide a much-needed lifeline for them and help them acclimatise to assisted living and outside help.

A live-in carer will live with them in their home and be available to help them with tasks such as cleaning, cooking, running errands and maintaining good personal care. The level of help can be agreed at the from the start and a care plan can be drawn up that meets their needs.

A live-in carer will require their own room and working hours can be agreed, but this type of care is well worth considering if you or your loved ones require additional care and want to stay together in the comfort of your home.

Live-in care for couples is ideal for households where one or both of the individuals require extra support. This could be for either physical or mental health reasons such as recovering from a stroke or conditions such as Parkinson’s, MS, dementia or a spinal injury.

A live-in carer can help with a multitude of tasks and chores around the home and be a much needed extra helping hand. It can be especially helpful if either of you need assistance getting up from a bed or chair, or in or out of a bath or with any other heavy lifting.
